Why SaaS teams hire offshore SDRs
SaaS growth runs on pipeline, and pipeline runs on conversations. But a US SDR costs about $9,500 a month once you add benefits and payroll costs (Bridge Group 2025 median OTE of $80,000, plus BLS employer costs), and the Bridge Group puts average ramp at 3.0 months. For a seed or Series A company, that’s a big bet on one seat.
An offshore SDR changes the maths. Our clients hire experienced SDRs for $1,300–$1,700 a month in Morocco, Argentina or Mexico, so you can test outbound, cover inbound demo requests faster, or run two SDRs for less than the cost of one in the US.
“Most founders assume a sales hire means $80K+ a year. Our clients hire experienced SDRs in Morocco, Argentina or Mexico for $1,300–1,900 a month, working US hours, and they’re usually booking meetings within 2 weeks. The real cost isn’t the salary, it’s hiring the wrong person, so we test every candidate on live cold calls before they’re shortlisted.”Jesse Wright, Co-Founder, Talentige

| Free-trial and freemium conversion | Reaches active trial users, finds the champion, books a call with sales | Comfortable talking about product use cases |
| Event and webinar follow-up | Works attendee lists within 48 hours while interest is fresh | High-volume, consistent caller |
| Bilingual expansion | Opens Spanish, Portuguese or French-speaking markets | Native speaker from Mexico, Argentina, Brazil or Morocco |

Skills to look for in a SaaS SDR
- Comfort with software buyers. They can talk to a VP of Sales, a CTO or an operations lead without sounding scripted.
- Curiosity about the product. SaaS SDRs book better meetings when they understand the problem your product solves, not just its features.
- Tool fluency. HubSpot or Salesforce, a sequencer such as Outreach, Salesloft or Apollo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Strong writing. Most SaaS outbound is email and LinkedIn. Short, specific messages win.
- Coachability. Your messaging will change as you learn your market. The best SDRs adapt quickly.

When a SaaS company is ready for its first SDR
- You know who buys. You have a clear ideal customer profile and at least a handful of customers who look alike.
- Founders are the bottleneck. Founders or AEs are spending hours prospecting instead of running demos and closing.
- Inbound leads go cold. Demo requests or trial sign-ups wait hours or days for a reply.
- Someone can coach. A founder or sales leader can review calls every week for the first 90 days.
If two or more of these are true, an offshore SDR is usually the lowest-risk way to test whether outbound works for your product before you build a bigger team.
Mistakes SaaS teams make with their first SDR
- No clear list. An SDR without a defined ICP and account list spends the first month guessing.
- Measuring meetings booked, not held. Count meetings that actually happen and that your AEs accept.
- Changing the pitch every week. Give new messaging two to three weeks of volume before judging it.
- Hiring on price alone. The cheapest candidate who can’t hold a conversation costs more than a strong one. Test on live calls first.
Best countries for SaaS SDRs
- Argentina: strong English, SaaS-savvy talent, 1–2 hours ahead of US Eastern time.
- Mexico: English and Spanish on US Central, Mountain or Pacific hours. Ideal if you sell into LATAM too.
- Morocco: English and French, so it covers the US, Canada including Quebec, and French-speaking Europe.
- Colombia and Brazil: good Eastern-time overlap; Brazil adds Portuguese.
